Abstract

A 48-year-old man, who had a past and family history of blisters occurring on the hands and feet, visited our clinic with erythematous scaly plaques on the whole body. A biopsy on the foot showed a subepidermal blister with negative results in a direct immunofluorescence study, which was suggestive of epidermolysis bullosa simplex (EBS). Histological examination on the erythematous plaque was typically consistent with psoriasis. A biopsy on the abdomen showed histologic characteristics of both EBS and psoriasis. Therefore, he was diagnosed with psoriasis developed in localized EBS. Herein, we report a rare case of severe psoriasis vulgaris developed in a localized EBS patient.
